Delete your NotNow account
You can request permanent deletion of your NotNow account and the data stored with it. You do not need to reinstall or open the Android app to do this, and you do not need to sign in to read these instructions.
Request deletion
Send us a deletion request by email. Please send it from the email address associated with your NotNow account, so we can confirm the account is yours.
If that button does not work — for example if your browser has no email client set up — write to this address manually:
Use the subject line NotNow account deletion request, and include the email address of the account you want deleted.
Never send us your password. NotNow support will never need your password to process a deletion request, and will never ask you for it. Do not send passwords, one-time codes, authentication tokens, recovery codes or payment-card details in your message.
How the request is processed
- You send the deletion request, ideally from the email address linked to your NotNow account.
- We confirm that the account belongs to you. If your request came from a different address, we may need to ask you for something that verifies ownership. We will never ask for your password.
- Your account is deactivated and your NotNow cloud data is scheduled for permanent erasure.
- We reply to confirm once the request has been actioned.
The 90-day window
NotNow account deletion has a deliberate cooling-off period. When a deletion takes effect:
- Your account becomes inactive straight away, and you are signed out on every device.
- For 90 days, nothing is destroyed. If you change your mind, signing in again within that window reactivates your account with everything intact.
- After 90 days the erasure is permanent and cannot be undone.
What is deleted
Once the 90 days have passed, the following are permanently erased:
- Your NotNow account and sign-in credentials
- Your profile: display name, if you set one, and language preference
- Your cloud backup archive, and the record describing it
- Your subscription entitlement record held by NotNow
- Any device records and billing event records linked to your account
- The deletion request itself
Because your settings, blocking rules, schedules and usage history are stored inside the backup archive, deleting your account deletes those too.
What this does not cover
- Data on your phone. NotNow works on your device, and deleting your account does not touch it — your blocks, schedules, statistics and Guard Mode keep running. To remove that data, uninstall the app. Note that Android's own backup may still hold a copy in your Google account; that is controlled in your device's backup settings.
-
Your subscription. Deleting your account does
not cancel it. Subscriptions are managed by Google
Play, and you will keep being charged until you cancel there.
Manage subscriptions in Google Play - Data held independently by Google. Google Play's record of your purchases is Google's, under Google's privacy policy, and is not ours to delete.
- Records we must keep by law. Information connected to a purchase may have to be retained to meet tax, accounting and other legal obligations.
Deleting from inside the app
If you still have NotNow installed, you can delete your account directly without emailing anyone:
Profile → Account → Delete account
You will be asked for your password to confirm. The same 90-day window and the same rules described above apply.
